Dorothy Ruth Jennings of Farmington passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at her residence, at the age of 89 years. She was born on Feb. 19, 1918, in Patterson, Mo., the daughter of the late Leslie and Cora Hovis Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Jennings, daughter, Dorothy Powell, two sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Jennings was a member of the Hayti United Methodist Church, where she also was a member of the women's group. Before her retirement, she was Collections Clerk at the City of Hayti Utilities Dept., at Hayti, Mo.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Lantto and husband Reuben of Minnesota, and Karen Reeves and husband Sonny of St. Louis; six grandchildren; Melodie Powell, Michelle Vickery, Caprice Lantto-Walker, Gordie Lantto, Jolie Lillie, and Kirsten Reeves; four great-grandchildren, Reece, Micha, Madeleine and Harrison; two sisters, Maxine Montgomery and Maurine McAllister; two brothers, Hugh Davis and Joe Davis. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007. A funeral service will follow on Sunday at the Cozean Chapel at 4 p.m., with Rev. Gary Grey officiating. Private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 10:30 a.m., at Antioch Cemetery in Lodi, Mo.
