Mondra Marie Cecil Bell, 89, of Lafe, Ark., formerly of the Hayti, Mo. area, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at her residence.
Born July 14, 1918, in Paragould, Ark., daughter of the late Amos Monroe and Lizzie Belle Santie Evett, she was a homemaker.
On Nov. 17, 1932, in Bragg City, Mo., she married Lawrence Cecil, who preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1960. She later married Uvious Bell on June 16, 1966, in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1990. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Raymond and Clinton Evett and one sister as an infant, Helen Inez Cecil.
Survivors include four sons, Melvin Cecil, of Caruthersville, Gene Cecil, of Hayti, Paul Cecil, of Neelyville, Mo., and Charles Cecil, of Bragg City; eight daughters, Dorothy Reed, of Jonesville, La., Evelyn Deloach and Alice Davidson, both of Lafe, Wanda Watts, of Mobile, Ala., Linda Aliceson, of Steele, Mo., Glenna Baker, of Forkland, Ala., Brenda Littleton, of Hayti and Kathy Lewis, of Gallion, Ala.; one sister, Rheva Ledbetter, of Lexington, Ky.; 41 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caruthersville with Father Randolph Tochtrop officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Reed, Mark Littleton, Greg Davidson, Brad and Ronnie Cecil and Alan Aliceson.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike, Danny, David and Robert Alan Cecil, Ricky, Kevin and Gregg Reed and Buss Tate.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
