We see the same thing along the streets of Kennett, or at ball games, or at Wal-Mart, or Casey's -- practically everywhere one might be.
According to a report by WGCL TV in Atlanta, "baggy pants that show boxer shorts or thongs would be illegal under a proposed amendment to Atlanta's indecency laws."
The WGCL report goes on to say that, according to city councilman C.T. Martin, sagging pants are "epidemic" and becoming a major problem around the country.
The ordinance would not only address guys' boxer shorts but also girls' thongs, prohibiting girls from showing the strap of a thong.
I do not understand these people who are so proud of their underwear. With few exceptions, these people are not that attractive. If attention is something they want, why would they not attempt to get attention in a noteworthy way. Are we to believe they prefer showing their, well, you know what, to get attention?
I say to C.T. Martin, "Good luck." I hope you manage to get your ordinance passed. Maybe that will be the start of a new trend.
An interesting quote by Frank Zappa: "Rock journalism is people who can't write interviewing people who can't talk in order to provide articles for people who can't read."
(I know some think that is true of all journalists!)
