Charles W. George, 81, of Kennett, formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died today, Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born July 18, 1926, in Kennett, son of the late Homer W. and Sadie S. Minter George, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII. He attended the First United Pentecostal Church in Kennett.

On March 13, 1947, he married Emma Lou Alliston, who survives.

Survivors also include three sons, Charles R. George, of Holcomb and Walter L. and Gary R. George, both of Kennett; three sisters, Sue Carnett, of Holcomb, Jonell Fowler, of Kennett and Berniece Morgan, of Clio, Mich.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Sunday, Aug. 26, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Sheerin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers are members of the First United Pentecostal Church.
