Edith Lily Midgett, 85, of Dexter, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at her residence.
Born Feb. 25, 1922, in Oil Trough, Ark., daughter of the late Willie and Bessie Williams Wallace, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Risco, Mo.
On Oct. 16, 1943, in New Madrid, Mo., she married Charles Aubry Midgett, who preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1977. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Ronnie, Doyle Wayne and Rickie Gene Midgett; one daughter, Carol Faye Midgett and three brothers, Thurman, Lloyd and Bill Wallace.
Survivors include four daughters, Zerlene Stafford and Darlene Rowland, both of Dexter, Linda Walker, of Bloomfield, Mo., and Shelia Haerting, of Jackson, Mo.; two sons, Jimmie Midgett, of Dexter and Terry Midgett, of Risco; five sisters, Nadine Orr, of Columbia City, Ind., Loudean Starnes and Manda Kellick, both of Dexter, Beatrice Staggs, of Jackson, Miss., and Wanda Calvert, of Fegus, Mo.; one brother, Harold Glen Wallace, of Parma, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Mittag officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery at Malden.
