Algeron Schoolfield, 88, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Clarkton, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born Jan. 5, 1919, in Portageville, Mo., daughter of the late Luther and Hattie Brockwell Jackson, she was a member of the Stanfield Baptist Church in Clarkton.
On July 1, 1936, in Kennett, she married Claude L. Schoolfield, who preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1999. She was also preceded in death by one sister and two grandchildren, Julie and Mark Delisle.
Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Bermudez and husband, Jose, of Inmokalee, Fla.; one son, Joe Dan Schoolfield and wife, Harriett, of Bufordville, Mo.; one sister, Betty Yvonne Ward, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren, Steve Delisle, of Inmokalee, David Delisle, of Lehigh, Fla., Melody Anderson and Joe L. Schoolfield, both of Jackson, Mo., and Tyson Schoolfield, of Cape Girardeau; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., today, Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
