Born Jan. 13, 1920, in Eddyville, Ky., son of the late Edgar and Zora Bruce Shelton, he was a U.S. veteran, having served in WWII. He was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith.
On Jan. 29, 1946, in Clarkton, Mo., he married Ruth Boyle, who preceded him in death on April 30, 1988. He was also preceded in death by one son and one brother.
Survivors include one sister, Geneva Smith, of Bernie; one sister-in-law, Patsy Shelton, of Malden, Mo., and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
