Evelyn Cole

Evelyn Beaton Cole, 80, of Paragould, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark.

Born Oct. 28, 1926, in White Oak, Mo., daughter of J.R. and Bertha Johnson, she was a registered nurse and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one son, Zane Gray Beaton, Jr., of Collierville, Tenn.; one daughter, Cecilia Lovelady, of Mountain Home; one brother, Ronald Johnson, of Metairie, La.; one sister, Aline Johnson, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Zane Beaton; her second husband, H.T. Cole and one son, Bari Beaton.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

A private family memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
