Rita Jo Day, 53, of Kennett, died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at her residence.
Born Jan. 24, 1954, in Rector, Ark., daughter of Mildred Jo Taylor Nash and the late James Lee Nash, she was employed as a correctional officer at Louisiana State Penitiary. She was a member of Okeena General Baptist Church and the Kennett Eagles Club.
Survivors include one son, Shannon Day, of Louisiana; two brothers, Larry Ward, of Kennett and Lonnie Ward, of Paragould, Ark.; her fiance, Terry Ray Bradley, of Kennett and her mother, Mildred Jo Taylor Armour, of Kennett.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Christi Jones and one sister, Sherri Nash.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m., today, Tuesday, July 24, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Collins officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
