Born May 8, 1954, in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., son of Geraldine Hunter Slavings and the late Cecil Lee Slavings, he was a U.S. Army veteran and an electrician.
Suvivors include three children, Leneatha Jean Robinson and husband, Brock, of Steele and Leslie Breanne and Zachary Todd Nanney, both of West Plains, Mo.; his mother, Geraldine Slavings, of Hayti; two brothers, Michael Slavings, Sr., and wife, Cora, of Hayti and Ricky Lynn Slavings, of Radford, Va.; one sister, Judith Teresa Huddleston, of Grand Junction, Colo., and four grandchidlren, Alex and Ethan Rudd and Kaylon and Mikayla Robinson, all of Steele.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 21, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in hayti with the Rev. Rob Titus officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Sam Billington, Stuart Robinson and Jeremy and Jamie Slavings.
Honorary pallbearers were Darren Newton, and Maylon Edward Dickey, II.
