Wanda Christine Johnson, 81, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Hayti, Mo.

Born Sept. 29, 1925, at Bend Island in Pemiscot County, Mo., daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth Hedge Ferrell, she attended school at 14 Bend Island and was employed at Brown Shoe Company.

On Oct. 27, 1939, in Blytheville, Ark., she married William H. Johnson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Wanda Jean and Donna Kay Johnson and one son, William Lynn Johnson.

Survivors include five daughters, Dorothy Christine Banzhaf, Betty Ann Moore, Mary Frances Shelton, Karen Renee Malin and Lisa Ruth Walker; two sons, Donald Howard and David Lee Johnson; one sister, Deanne Hankins; one brother, Buck Ferrell; 27 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville, Mo. with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.

Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Robert Heathcock, III, Robert Heathcock, IV, Heath Brown, David Overton, Scott Heathcock and Tyson Brown.
