Born Oct. 2, 1952, in Portageville, Mo., son of the late Kelly and Myrtle May Brock Copeland, he was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed at Noranda Aluminum in Marston, Mo.
On Oct. 2, 1990, in Dyersburg, Tenn., he married Barbara Rae Woolums, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Travis Dean Copeland, of Tallapoossa and Clyde Jerome Copeland, Jr., of Ripley, Tenn.; one daughter, Hope Barnett, of Stuttgart, Ark.; one step-daughter, Quintina Glass, of Tallapoossa; six sisters, Dottie Tyler, of Piedmont, Mo., Barbara Wilburn, of Hamlet, Ind., Anne Gasparas, of Whitesboro, Texas, Jean Mathis, of Marston, and Goldie Howard and Mandy Pierce, both of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one brother, Fred Copeland, of Tallapoossa and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lenzie, Kelly Dewayne and Roger Dale Copeland.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., today, Tuesday, July 17, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo., with the Rev. Earl Dell officiating.
Burial with military rites was held in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
