James Hassen Cagle, 71, of Gideon, Mo., died Saturday, July 7, 2007, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.

Born Jan. 31, 1936, son of the late Otis and Nellie Jane Bowling Cagle, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of the Malden VFW.

Survivors include three daughters, Stephanie Garcia and husband, Andy, of Campbell, Mo., Donna Prenger of Malden, and LaFonda Johnson and husband, Mike, of Warrenton, Mo.; two sons, Jimmy Cagle of North Wilksboro, N.C., and Gary Cagle and wife, Teresa, of Gideon, Mo.; three sisters, Joyce Bruce and Jayne Miller, of Malden, and Nancy Willis, of St. Charles, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John Cagle.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. till noon, Monday, July 9, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, July 9, at the Bradshaw Chapel, with Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.

Burial was in the Rosewood Cemetery with military rites.
