Leland Wilbur Levins, 80, of Monument, Colo., formerly of Paragould, Ark., died Monday, July 2, 2007, t Colorado Springs, Colo.

Born Dec. 13, 1926, in Paragould, son of the late Homer and Elizabeth Levins, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in WWII and a retired firefighter. He was a member of the Tri Lakes United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Levins, of Monument; three sons, Tim Levins, of Monument, Charles Byrd, of St. Louis, Mo., and David Byrd, of St. Charles, Mo.; two daughters, Leah C. levins, of Monument and Barbara Sewdin, of Pittsburgh, Penn.; one sister, Betty Wipperman, of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Danny Mack Byrd.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, July 7, at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 8, at the Mitchell Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Sewdin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lulu Cemetery at Senath, Mo.

Memorials may be made to the Tri Lakes United Methodist Church, 20256 Hunting Downs Way, Monument, Colo. 80132.
