Born March 29, 1947, in Senath, Mo., son of the late Robert Lee and Olivia Mize Beights, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Piggott, Ark.
On Oct. 12, 1969, he married Linda Butler, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Tim Beights, of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, Tammy Story, of Indianapolis and four brothers, Wayne Beights, of Phoenix, Ariz., Bobby Beights, of Las Vegas, Nev., Leon Beights, of Indianapolis and Frankie Beights, of Senath, Mo.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Beights.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 1, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Piggott with the Revs. Earl Carrier and Floyd Ryles officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Leroy Chavez, James Pollard, Jim Shipman, Jack Burden, Billy Burr and Jimmy Beights.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
