Tessie Hamlett, 88, of Kennett, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Kennett.
Born Nov. 14, 1918, in Bradford, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Western Rhew.
On Nov. 23, 1935, she married Alvie Deward Hamlett, who preceded her in death on June 24, 1999. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Festus and Herbert Rhew; five sisters, Ila Stacy, Blanche Hodge and Doris, Nancy and Agnes Rhew; a grandson, Brian Young; a great-grandson, Skyler Lynn Smith and a son-in-law, Garfield Young.
Survivors include one son, Mack Hamlett, of Holcomb, M.; two daughters, Shelby Crouch, of Kennett and Shirley Young, of Fairdealing, Mo.; two sisters, Pauline Alexander, of Bradford and laverne Guthie, of Little Rock, Ark.; three granddaughters; three grandsons; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, June 30, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 1, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Landess Addition, at Campbell, Mo.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Scotty and Brad Hamlett, Michael Ward, Brody Shepard and Michael and Cody Young.
