Anna Deneve Hester, 84, of Grass Valley, Calif., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at Nevada City, Calif.
Born July 12, 1922, in Omaha, Neb., daughter of the late William C. Schmidt and Lucy Deneve Pickard, she was a homemaker and a salesclerk for Lanier's Jewelry Store in Malden. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden, a member and past president of the Malden DeReigh Club and a member of the R.S.V.P.
On Sept. 15, 1942, in pacific Beach, Calif., she married Harold Lester, who preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1978.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Singleton and Beverly Morris, both of Grass Valley; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Hester, of Malden and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 24, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 25, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aulden Leblanc officiating.
Burial will follow in the Park Cemetery at Malden.
