Burly G. Brown, 73, of Dexter, Mo., died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born April 12, 1934, in Kennett, son of the late Conard and Bessie Wills Brown, he was farmer and a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Dexter.
On Nov. 24, 1953, in Caruth, Mo., he married Bonnie Fulbright, who preceded him in death on March 21, 2005. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Wayne Brown and one sister, Peggy Chailland.
Survivors include one son, Patrick J. Brown and wife, Karen, of Essex, Mo.; two daughters, Tracey Pope and husband, Eddie and Monica Dodson and husband, Dennis, all of Dexter; three brothers, Frank Brown, of Kennett, Willard Brown, of Green Valley, Ill., and Ronnie Brown, of Tupelo, Miss.; three sisters, Roberta Champ, of Kennett, Norma Taylor, of Beavercreek, Ohio and Teresa Tate, of Jonesboro, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Dede Pope Bennett, Zachary Pope, Gena Dodson Driskill and Darin Dodson, all of Dexter and Jesse, Lane and Laura Brown, all of Essex and three great-grandchildren, Chelsea Bennett and Payton and Shelby Driskill, all of Dexter.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, June 22, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 22, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett with the Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating.
