Clifford Milton Powell, 87, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, June 11, 2007.
Born Feb. 5, 1920, in Clifton, Tenn., son of the late Jim and Ola Mae Sample Powell, he was a retired farmer and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Steele.
On June 24, 1939, in Steele, he married Edith Kathleen Richardson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Jerry Powell; one sister, Verna Howell; and seven brothers, J.R., Arnold, Ed, Rachel, Hershall, Hillard and Truman Powell.
Survivors include three sons, Jackie Powell, of Caruthersville, Mo., Randy Powell, of Steele, and Ricky Powell, of Armorel, Ark.; one sister, Mary McClanahan, of Palmersville, Tenn.; one brother, Bobby Powell, of Steele; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, at the Powell Funeral Home in Steele.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 14, at Powell Funeral Home with Reverends Charles Clark and John Badgley officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele.
Pallbearers were Jeremy, Tony, Chris, Greg and Roger Powell, Stacy Mosier, Drew Green and Rick Willingham.
