Carol Jean Williams, 58, of Marshall, Mo., died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Lexington Care Center in Lexington, Mo.
Born Jan. 16, 1949, in Hayti Heights, Mo., daughter of the late Bishop Jimmie Russell, Sr. and Carrie Vianna Lewis Russell, she was a graduate of Central High School, attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo., Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Mo., Cotton Boll Vocational Tech in Burdette, Ark., and graduated from Missouri Valley College in Marshall. She was a teacher and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Congregational in Hayti Heights and later became a member of Precious Vine Church of Jesus Christ Congregational in Marshall.
In the early 70's she married Lee Grady Williams, Jr., who survives.
Survivors also include three daughters, Erica D. Williams and Carla Jimille Losio, of Marshall and Kelsie N. Fletcher and husband, Elias, of Jefferson City, Mo.; four brothers: Jimmie Russell, Jr., of St. Louis, Mo., Marshall Russell, of Seattle, Wash., Glenn R. Russell, of Hayti Heights, and Carl L. Russell and his wife, Melinda, of Kennett; two sisters, Dorothy D. Russell of Jefferson City and Carmen L. Cummings and her husband, Frank, of Marshall and two grandsons, Bryce Jamison Williams and Glenn Ray Losio of Marshall
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Mount Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Marshall with Pastor Frank Cummings officiating.
Burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery at Marshall.
Pallbearers were Jimmie Russell, Jr., Glenn R. Russell, Ralph Harris, Aron Sain, Antonio Taylor and Elias Fletcher.
