James Paul "Dugan" Berry, Jr., 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Friday, June 8, 2007, at Poplar Bluff.
Born May 6, 1919, in Pemiscot County, Mo., son of the late James Paul Berry, Sr., and Lila G. Garner Berry, he was a 1947 graduate of Caruthersville High School, a Boy Scout Leader and a member of the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church. He was employed at J.P. Berry Welding Company.
On July 4, 1954, in Caruthersville, Mo., he married Bethel Watkins, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, James Paul Berry, III, of Madison, Miss., William H. Berry, of Caruthersville and Michael Richard Berry, of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Patricia Ellen Oatsvall, of Caruthersville; one sister, Nancy Ellen Bringhurst, of North Carolina; one brother, Milton Edward Berry, of Carrollton, Ga.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Milton Berry.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 10, at the H.S. Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Jerry Pendergrass, Jim Barron, Jerry Burge, Jeremy Hufford, Lee Gardner and Michael Berry.
