Hazel Estella Pope, 87, of Hurst, Texas, formerly of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Hurst.
Born Aug. 8, 1919, in Bessie Bend, Tenn., daughter of the late Hazie Farrah Meatheany and Sara Rebecca Francis Haines, she was a homemaker.
On July 24, 1945, she married William Ralph Pope, who preceded her in death on March 7, 1996. She was also preceded in death by one brother, A.J. Meatheany and two sisters, Opal McCormick and Helen Meatheany.
Survivors include one son, Gary Wayne Pope, of Hurst; two daughters, Carol F. Clifton, of Clearwater, Fla., and Shudonia Ann Rolenhagen, of Colbran, Colo.; two brothers, James Meatheany and wife, Mary, of Russellville, Ark., and Doyle Meatheany and wife, Lou, of Lesterville, Mo.; two sisters, Lillian Watson, of Farmersville, Calif., and Roberta Freed and husband, Glen, of St. Peters, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Timothy and Michael Harpe, Blair Rollenhagen, Sara Gardner, Julie LaFlame, Carrie Britton, Scott, Jeff and Randy Pope and Susie Ellis and 17 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 10, in the Elder Cemetery at Campbell, Mo., with the Rev. Harold Pope officiating.
Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.
