Born Feb. 16, 1927, in Lock Hear Ferry, Ark., son of the late James Henry and Charlotte Barr McPike Smith, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII.
Survivors include one son, Freddie L. Smith, Jr., of St. Mary's Mo.; five brothers, Roland Smith, of Flint, Mich., James Thomas Smith, of Howell, Mich., Kenneth Smith, of Risco, Mo., Billy Gene Smith, of Walnut, Calif., and Barney B. Smith, of Midland, Texas; one sister, Eugenia Blummerkemper, of Greenbriar, Ark., and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cleo and Curtis Smith and one half-brother, C.C. Norris.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 11, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 11, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo. with the Rev. Mark Powell officiating.
