Jack Loyd Vancil, 79, of Campbell, Mo., died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Born Dec. 18, 1927, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., son of the late Earnest Randolph and Maude Loyd Vancil, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII and the Korean War and a farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holcomb, Mo.

On Dec. 4, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., he married Winnie L. Reel, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Joe Vancil, of Columbia, Mo., and Marty Vancil and wife, Gentry, of Campbell and three granddaughters, Jody, Anna Beth and Elle Vancil, all of Campbell.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jean Vancil and Ernest Vancil, Jr.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, June 5, at the Landess Funeral Home chapel in Campbell with the Revs. Gene Lancaster and Tim Abanathy officiating.

Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
