Fred A. Motes, 60, of Rector, Ark., died Sunday, May 27, 2007, at his residence.
Born June 26, 1946, in Reform, Miss., he was the son of the late Lonnie and Irene Looney Motes.
On Nov. 7, 1968, in Kennett, he married Sherry Letson, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Fred Allen Motes, Jr., and wife, Kim, of Knoble, Ark.; one daughter, Melanie Chamberlain and husband, John, of Rector; one sister, Judy Whitworth, of Marmaduke, Ark.; seven brothers, Johnny Ray Motes, of Guntown, Miss., Clarence Motes, of Marmaduke, Wesley Motes, of Rector, Vernon Motes, of San Antonio, Texas, Richard Motes, of Memphis, Tenn., James Motes, of Cardwell, Mo., and Walter Motes, of Fredericktown, Mo.; three grandchildren, Mistie, Brittney and Cody C., and three great-grandchildren, Seveta and Elizabeth Turner and Caine Chamberlain.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred "Al" Motes and one sister, Carolyn Sue Motes and one great-grandson, Orlin Chamberlain.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., today, Thursday, May 31, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath, Mo., with the Rev. Floyd Bailey officiating.
Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Timmy McElhaney, Brian Archer, Johnny Motes, Mike Hummer, Wesley Motes, Jr., Shane Letson and Chuck Henson.
