Born March 11, 1936, in Lepanto, Ark., son of the late John a. and Bertha Howard Thompson, he was of the Pentecostal faith.
He married Mary Evelyn Sandusky, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas Thompson and four brothers, John Henry, David, George Alford and Jessie Alford Thompson.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Lee Thompson, of Idalia, Mo., Willis Adam Thompson, of Dexter, Mo., and Bobby Dale Thompson, of Freeman Spur, Ill.; one daughter, Mary Jane Smith, of Poplar Buff, Mo.; five brothers, Leonard Thompson, of Albany, Ore., Gerald Thompson, of Holcomb, Mo., Lloyd Thompson, of Jefferson City, Mo., and Marvin and Ronnie Thompson, both of Malden; four sisters, Veda Ethington, of Caseyville, Ill., Freda Henson, of Parsons, Tenn., Virginia Lipsey, Qulin, Mo., and Maxine Headd, of Marion, Ill..; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, May 29, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Paul White officiating.
Burial was in the Rosewood Cemetery at Malden.
