Elvis "Luke" Carter of Kennett, Missouri and Blanche Byrd Carter formerly of White Oak, Missouri will celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary on June 4, 2007. They were married at the First Baptist Church in Kennett on June 4, 1947 by Rev. Owen Sherrill.

Luke Carter was a rural mail carrier in Kennett for 36 years. He retired in 1981. Blanche was employed as secretary to the Executive Director of the Kennett Chamber of Commerce when it was organized in 1946. She served in this capacity for eight years. They have lived there their entire married life in Kennett.

They have one son, Bradford Jay Carter; wife, Mary Elizabeth Carter; and two granddaughters Stacy Lynn Carter and Kelly Elizabeth Carter.
