Felix Arthur Bullington, 83, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at his residence.

Born July 16, 1923, in the McCarty community, son of the late Lawrence L.M. Melvin and Willie Mae Brown Bullington, he was a U.S. Army veteran, and received a Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Ribbon and four overseas bars. He operated Bullington and Sons Electric.

On July 3, 1946, in Holly Springs, Miss., he married Ruby Bell Emerson, who preceded him in death on July 17, 1999. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, J.B., Earnest, Ralph and Robert; two sisters, Willie Mae Bullington and Virginia Wolfe and one granddaughter, Carri Beth Bullington.

Survivors include three sons, Berl Bullington and wife, Margaret and Danny Bullington and wife, Christie, all of Caruthersville and Arthur Bullington and wife, Diane, of Hernando, Miss.; one daughter, Janet Poole and husband, Donald, of Nesbit, Miss.; one brother, Clarence Bullington, of Caruthersville; one sister, Cecil Mae Hunt, of Louisville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Monday, May 21, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville with the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were family members.
