George William Fowler, 76, of Portageville, Mo., died Monday, May 21, 2007, at his residence.
Born July 24, 1930, in Neelyville, Mo., son of the late Roy Elsye and Edna Pearl Denison Fowler, he was in construction business.
On Nov. 20, 1987, in Neelyville, he married Imogene Smith, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, George Rickie Fowler, of Gray Ridge, Mo., Julius Fowler, of Portageville and Johnny Lee Fowler, of Pascola, Mo.; three daughters, Edna Maevelyn Newsom, of Portageville, Angela Ann Rimmer, of McKenzie, Tenn., and Becky Joyce Luffman, of Dover, Tenn.; two step-sons, James Burnham, of St. Louis, Mo., and Donnie Burnham, of Caruthersville, Mo.; four step-daughters, Juanita Riddle, Donna Page and Cherrie Liles, all of Portageville and Lorene Hurst, of Hayti, Mo.; six sisters, Maggie Lucille Mason, of Portageville, Dovie Virginia Luttrell, of Caruthersville, Martha Juanita Moore, of Campbell, Mo., Peggie O'Neal Harrison, of Carpenterville, Ill., Elva Jewell Gray, of Risco, MO., and Ima Jean Creasy, of Parma, Mo.; one brother, Charles Lonzo Fowler, of Mainarn, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren and 36 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Lonzo and Raymond Fowler; four sisters, Ellie Mae and Annie Gertrude Fowler, Wanda Louise Gamble and Rosie Pearl Sullivan; one step-son, Ronnie Burnham and two grandchildren, Rickie George Fowler and Christina Lee Peek.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, May 23, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Wardell, Mo., with Pastor James McCullum officiating.
Burial was in the Wardell Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leslie Ester, Michael Liles, Eric Wilson, Donnie Burnham, Gary Creasy, Gabriel Burnham and Davis Hurst..
Honorary pallbearers were Jesse R. Gamble, David Hurst and Maury Hays.
