Marie Ward, 91, of Gideon, Mo., formerly of Clarkton, Mo., died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Gideon Care Center.

Born May 2, 1916, in Hayward, Mo., daughter of the late Walter Dean and Elsa Mae Maloney Roberson, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gideon, the Friendship Club of Gideon, the Civic Club of Clarkton and WMU of Gideon and Clarkton.

On July 20, 1935, she married Ulys Ward, who preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1983. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Priscilla Ward; one brother, Billy Roberson and two sisters, Geraldine Foster and Helen Boone.

Survivors include one daughter, Karein Robinson and husband, Calvin, of Brandon, Miss.; three sons, Allen Ward and wife, Marie, of Gideon, Larry Ward, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Ulys Faye Ward and wife, Joan, of San Miguel, Mexico; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, May 22, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home chapel in Malden, Mo., with the Revs. Nick Robertson and Lewis Scott officiating.

Burial was in the Portageville Cemetery at Portageville, Mo.
