John D. McClanahan, 92, of Campbell, Mo., died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.

Born Aug. 26, 1914, in Broseley, Mo., son of the late Marion and Cordelia Lumpkin McClanahan, he was a security guard for Noranda and of the Baptist faith.

On April 26, 1978, in Broseley, he married Doris Louise Pennington, who preceded him in death on May 23, 2006. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donise McClanahan; one sister, Prudence McClanahan; one brother, Charles McClanahan and one grandchild.

Survivors include nine sons, Ronald McClanahan and wife, Linda, of Springfield, Mo., Mike McClanahan and wife, Brenda, Steve Scott and wife, Judy and Frank Scott, all of Rockford, Ill., Gary Lawrence, of Lake Wappapello, Mo., Wayne Lawrence and wife, Sue, of Waynesboro, Tenn., Jesse Lawrence and wife, Robin, of Piggott, Ark., Randy Lawrence and wife, Janie, of Dallas, Texas and Steve Lawrence and wife, Debbie, of Castle Rock, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one nephew.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m., Saturday, May 19, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 19, at the Landess Funeral Home chapel with James Powell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elder Cemetery at Campbell.
