Gladys Christine Lacewell, 90, of Gideon, Mo., died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Gideon Care Center.

Born July 17, 1916, in Senath, Mo., daughter of the late Frank and Rilla Long Higgs, she was a member o the Mt. Zion General Baptist "Jericho" Church.

On Nov. 19, 1939, in Piggott, Ark., she married William Carmel Lacewell, who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2007. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Javery, Orville and Donald Higgs.

Survivors include one son, Clyde Dale "BeeGee" Lacewell and wife, Sondra, of Malden, Mo.; two grandsons, Danny and Scott Lacewell, both of Malden; four great-grandchildren, Jeremy Lacewell, of Dexter, Mo., Kari Lacewell, of Jackson, Mo., and Zach and Samantha Lacewell, both of Malden and one great-great-grandchild, Elizabeth Lacewell, of Dexter.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., today, Wednesday, May 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 17, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Pipkins officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery at Malden.
