Charles A. Long, Sr., 70, of Kennett, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at Kennett.
Born April 15, 1937, in Bucoda, Mo., son of the late Alton and Opal Collins Long, he was the owner of Long's Tax Service, which was in business for 50-years. He was a member of the Assemblies of God.
Survivors include one son, Charles Alton Long, Jr., of Kennett, Mo.; one daughter, Sandrea Diann Long, of Kennett; grandchildren, Charles Tristan, and Brea Long, Cheryl and Dave Westmorlan, Jade and George Anderson, all of Kennett, and Tessa Mastrianno, of Lakeland, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Tyler Colton Long, Brett Alton Long, Jacob Owen Anderson, and Kimberly Westmorlan, all of Kennett, and Kaley Mastrianno, of Lakeland, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Lou Long Newman, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Deloris June Long Pickens, of Paragould, Ark.; children of the heart, Vickie Hamlett, Karen McMahon, Angie Folkes, and JoBeth Brooks, all of Kennett, Lee Hufford, of Senath, Mo., Terry Barnett, of Lebanon, Mo., and Mark Lunbeck, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and best friend, Charles Darnell, of Braggadocio, Mo.
Charles was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Jean Long and Sandra Joan Long.
Pallbearers were David and Benny Cannon, Bob Young, Tristan Long, Dave Westmorlan and George Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Darnell, C.L. Williams, and Don Lynn.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 14, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel at Kennett with Rev. Charles James and Ernest Puckett officiating.
Burial was in the McGrew Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
