Martha Fitzmaurice, 83, of Steele, Mo., died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at her residence.

Born April 4, 1924, in Caruthersville, Mo., daughter of the late William and Mattie Russell Fitzmaurice, she graduated in 1941 from Cooter High School and attended nursing school in Blytheville. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Caruthersville.

Survivors include two sisters, Nell Weiford, of Idaho and Sally Houston, of Truman, Ark., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Russell Shaw officiating.

Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Greg, Wesley and Steven Blurton, Paul Michael and Brandon Shaw and Kyle Pullam.
