Born Dec. 5, 1946, in Silva, son of the late Albert and Nellie Phipps Atnip, he had worked in a sawmill and was of the Baptist faith.
One son, Mark Atnip, of Piedmont, Mo.; four daughters, Ramona Click, of Campbell, Mo., Angie Doughten and Regina Seeger, both of Kennett and Melissa Diane Atnip, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one step-son, Ronnie Bradshaw, of Bloomfield, Mo.; one step-daughter, Susan Rudd, of Piedmont; one brother, Johnny Atnip, of Gideon, Mo.; five sisters, Lois Hill, of Silva, Betty Capps and Shirley Coplin, both of Greenville, Mo., and Mary Jones and Barbara Scales, both of Rector, Ark.; five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Robert Atnip and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., today, Tuesday, May 1, at the Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, at the Ruegg Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Everett Meese officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Prospect Cemetery at Silva.
