Sarah Elisabeth Sharp and Edward Charles Marietta V would like to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Nellie and Earl Alexander, of McComb, Ms., and the late Cleatie Sharp of Kennett. She is the granddaughter of Mary Sanders and the late Albert Newton Sanders of Piggott, Ark., and the late Nadine and Hubert Holman of Kennett.

Sarah is a 1999 graduate of Kennett High School and is currently attending Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Ga., where she will be receiving a bachelor of science in middle grades education, with concentrations in English and Math. She is currently employed by Gilvin Appraisal Services as office manager.

The prospective groom is the son of Ed and Ann Marietta of Acworth, Ga., and the grandson of the late Ed and Betty Marietta of Mogadore, Ohio and the late Sarah and Vincent Stapleton of Marystown, Newfoundland.

He is a 1999 graduate of Etowah High School in Woodstock, Ga., and a 2005 graduate of Kennesaw State University with a bachelor of science in secondary social science education. He is currently employed as a Social Studies teacher at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School in Fairburn, Ga., as well as head baseball coach and assistant football coach.

The ceremony will be held at the Arbor Station Community Center on Saturday June 9, 2007. Reception will immediately follow the ceremony.

The couple plans to honeymoon in Charleston, S. C., and will reside in Douglasville, Ga.
