Born Nov. 18, 1931, in Hayti, son of the late Albert Guy and Susie Pryor Ball, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a Mason, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti. He was employed by Sears-Roebuck Co.
On Sept. 3, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., he married Mildred Imogene Back, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Rodney Ball and wife, Lynn, of Lafayette, Ind., Dale Ball, of LaPorte, Ind., and Robert Ball, of Campbell, Mo.; three brothers, Gene Ball, and Phillip Ball and wife, Lena May, all of Springdale, Ark., and Ralph Ball and wife, Diane, of Campbell, Mo.; three sisters, Naomi Pool, of Harker Heights, Fla., Edna Pease, of Big Sandy Tenn., and JoAnn Mack and husband, Nat, of Navarre, Fla., and four grandchildren, Kristy Ball, of Murray, Ky., Wesley Ball, of LaPorte, Matthew Ball, of Caruthersville, Mo., and Kaylee Ball, of Campbell.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Alvine Hawks and five brothers, Calvin, Tommy, Charlie, W.L. and Harold Ball.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 23, at the First Baptist Church in Hayti with Dr. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial with full military honors was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were his sons, grandsons and members of his Sunday school class.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
