John A. Taylor, 67, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at his residence.
Born May 19, 1939, in Myrtle, Miss., son of the late John Thomas and Ruth Gertrude Mayo Taylor, he was a 1957 graduate of Wardell High School, store manager for Barkovitz, Inc. in Hayti and a member of the Hayti Pentecostal Church.
On Nov. 11, 1958, in Pemiscot County, Mo., he married Marion Y. "Bonnie" Beckman, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Jerry Taylor, of Cardwell, Mo., and Mark Taylor, of Hayti; two daughters, Trena Adams, of Wichita, Kan., and Susan Engelhardt, of Blytheville, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Ledbetter and Stacy Duckworth, both of Claremore, Okla., Summer Gibbons, of Portageville, Mo., Andrew Taylor, of Hayti and Amber, Brian and Brooke Taylor, all of Bragg city, Mo. and two great-grandchildren, Kaytlyn Duckworth and Elijah Ledbetter, both of Claremore, Okla.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Aubrey Thomas Taylor and two sisters, Elois Aston and Alma Singleton.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 13, at the Hayti Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Leroy Thornton officiating and Bro. Doug Wahls officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Birmingham, Reggie Bunn, Timmy McCrary, Kenneth Dowdy, Jimmy Don Butler and Noble Shavers, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Popham, Jim Tilmon, Monroe McCrary and Wayne Keller.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
