Flossie Ransom

Flossie Merideth Ransom, 87, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, April 2, 2007.

Born May 22, 1919, in Cuba Landing, Tenn., daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. D.J. Merideth, she was a graduate of Caruthersville High School and she owned and operated an antique shop on her farm in Caruthersville.

She married Robert Ransom, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, D.J. Merideth, Jr., and one sister, Dorothy Opel Merideth.

Survivors include four children, Ann Hospodka, of Phoenix, Ariz., Gordon Butler, Jr., and wife, Virginia, of Orange Park, Fla., Bruce Milum and wife, Jane, of Caruthersville and Timothy Milum and wife, Pam, of Collierville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 6, at the First Presbyterian Church in Caruthersville with the Rev. Dr. Kirwin Stewart officiating.

Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were grandsons and family members.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
