Mary Dee Somers, 84, of Paragould, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Monday, April 2, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, Ark.
Born Sept. 10, 1922, in Paragould, daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Horton, she was a homemaker and a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Piggott, Ark.
She married Harry Somers, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Pat Tarry; two brothers, Curt and J.W. Horton; two sisters, Martha Edington and Thora Lawrence and one great-grandson, Aaron Tarry.
Survivors include one son, Larry Horton, of Paragould; one brother, Henry Horton, of La Farge, Wis.; three sisters, Nita Bowden, of Paragould, Jewel Cooper, of Goobertown, Ark., and Catherine Whitlock, of Kennett; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Wednesday, April 4, at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 5, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Joel McMasters officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Glen and Gary Whitlock, Will and Jacob Tarry, Dennis Cooper and John Lawrence.
