Dixie Francis Spencer, 89, of Kennett, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at her residence.
Born Sept. 2, 1917, in Marston, Mo., daughter of the late James Clifton and Ruby Johnson Darnell, she was employed at Ely Walker and was a member of Everett Street Baptist Church in Kennett.
On July 30, 1938, in Hickman, Ky., she married Murphy Lee Spencer, who preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1994. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jim Darnell.
Survivors include one son, Murphy Earl Spencer and wife, Janet, of Kennett; two daughters, Peggy Cannon and husband, Glenn, of Kennett and Vicky Grider and husband, B.J., of White Hall, Ark., and three grandchildren, Mark Cannon, of Kennett, Brian Spencer, of Chicago, Ill., and Jeffrey Spencer, of San Francisco, Calif.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Thursday, March 22, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 p.m., Friday, March 23, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Jim Ingram, Mark Wallace, Jeremy Potts, David Inman, Jake Skelton and Brian Deck.
Honorary pallbearers are Wiley Tucker and Ernest Harper, Jr.
