Velma Ruth Petty, 94, of Campbell, Mo., died Sunday, March 17, 2007, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.
Born April 12, 1912, in Campbell, daughter of the late Almus C. and Phoebe Gertrude Ricks Hicks, she was a homemaker and attended the Campbell General Baptist Church.
On June 8, 1947, in St. Francis, Ark., she married Victor S. Petty, who preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1975. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Ulus Hooks, Agnes Crawford, Anna Mae Smith and Maudine Tullos and two brothers, John and Truman Hicks.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Armstrong and husband, Larry and Wanda Petty, all of Campbell; two grandchildren, Lorri Benson, of Kennett and Christopher Armstrong, of Jonesboro, Ark. and one great-grandson, Riley Ethan Benson, of Kennett.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 19, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. Darren Baker officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Campbell.
