Born June 23, 1937, in Kennett, son of the late Jess and Frieda Cook Snipes, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a truck driver for Emerson Electric.
On Nov. 25, 1968, he married Kay Lantz, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three sons, Michael, Jerry and Tracy Snipes, all of Kennett; one daughter, Renee Snipes, of Kennett; three brothers, Hubert and Harold Snipes, both of Kennett and Buford Snipes, of Sikeston, Mo.; three sisters, Louise Snipes and Betty Tharpe, both of Clarksville, Tenn., and Goldie Howard, of Hayti, Mo., and eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex, Melanie, Maegan, Matt and Kelli Snipes and Christie and Brittani Nash.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Snipes.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., today, Thursday, March 15, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 16, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eric Snipes officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Tommy Cook, Keith and Kevin Nash, Paul Morris, John Gamble and Willie Raspberry.
Honorary pallbearers are Jack Lemonds, Max Averett, Randy Williams, Charles Fuller, Dub Lynn and Junior Cook.
