James Joseph "Jimmy" Varney, 67, of Kennett, Mo., died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his residence.
Born May 17, 1939, in Pike County, Ky., the son of the late Jim and Elsie Lowe Varney. He was a retired welder with Caruthersville Shipyard and attended Calvary Apostolic Church in Kennett, Mo.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Roscoe and Jerry Varney, and three sisters, Christina Wolford, Willie Jean Varney and Nancy Jane Varney.
He was survived by his ex-wife Judy Carol Donahue Varney of Kennett; three sons, James Earl Varney and wife, Yvonnia Renne, Joseph Franklin and Jeremy Thomas Varney, all of Kennett; one daughter, Ronda Carol Shelton and husband, Daniel Lee, of Rector, Ark.; two sisters, Nell Ruth May of Sidney, Ky., and Clarine McCoy of W. Va., and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with David Henderson officiating.
Burial was at the Tommy Varney Cemetery in Sharondale, Ky.
Pallbearers were Daniel Shelton, Joseph, Jeremy, Jeffrey, James Earl and James Varney, Jr.
