Verdia George

Verdia Elizabeth George, 86, of Kennett, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born April 20, 1920, in Monette, Ark., daughter of the late William Franklin and Fronnie Bell Miles Moore, she was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

On May 7, 1938, in Kennett, she married William Franklin George, who preceded her in death on March 5, 1994. She was also preceded in death by two sons, George Rollin and Julius Charles "J.C." George; one daughter, Mary Marcelline Brooks; one brother, Herbert Edgar Moore; a twin sister, Vergie Bell Drew and one grandson, Stephen Wayne Brooks.

Survivors include one daughter, Debra Lowe, of Kennett; two brothers, Chester Columbus Moore, of West Plains, Mo., and Julius "Jerry" Beano Moore, of Hoquiam, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Thursday, March 8, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
