Lavern Pace

Lavern Pace, 87, of Campbell, Mo., died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.

Born Dec. 17, 1919, in Campbell, son of the late Ode and Kate Borders Pace, he was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

On April 30, 1938, in Kennett, he married Alice Christine Baggett, who preceded him in death on July 8, 1993. He was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Gene Pace; two children in infancy, Patsy Carol Pace and Leonard Lavern Pace, Jr.; one brother, Howard Pace and two sisters, Pansy Taylor and Delilah Pace.

Survivors include one son, Garland Pace and wife, Peggy, of Campbell; two daughters, Peggy Ann Smiley, of Malden, Mo., and Donna Gail McCain and husband, Otis, of Holcomb, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Teresa Cunningham, Garland Pace, Jr., and Chastity Johnson, all of Campbell, Cindy Clark, of Sterling Heights, Mich., Michael Smiley and Angel Moore, both of Malden and Heather Tice, of Holcomb and seven great-grandchildren, Dustin and Tiffany Cunningham, Morgan and Alissa Pace, Brittany and Sean Clark and Corbin Tice.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Thursday, March 8, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.

Burial was in the Elder Cemetery at Campbell.
