Cletus Godfrey

Cletus E. Godfrey, 94, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.

Born April 5, 1912, in Rex, Ark., she was the daughter of the late James and Carrie Nelson Jones.

On Sept. 10, 1929, in Rupert, Ark., she married Willie Lee Godfrey, who preceded her in death in October of 1968. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Winnie and Leola Dale Jones; one step-sister, Zola Hefner Godfrey; one brother, Orus Jones; five step-brothers, Willie, Jerl, Paul, Opie and Odell Hefner and two grandchildren, Larry Ford and Linda Godfrey.

Survivors include nine children, Vernis Godfrey and wife, Ramona, of Indianapolis, Ind., Coney Godfrey and wife, Radene, of Muncie, Ind., Vivian Ford and husband, Doyle, of Jefferson, Ga., Bill Godfrey and wife, Glenda, of Arbyrd, Mo., Madge Bost and husband, Don and James Godfrey and wife, Gwenda, all of Senath, Mo., Mitchell Godfrey and wife, Jessie, of Branson, Mo., Eva Eubanks and husband, Carl, of Paragould and Trish Stacy and husband, David, of Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 5, at the Full Gospel Church in Cardwell, Mo., with the Rev. Leland Dement officiating.

Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery.

Pallbearers were sons and Larry Petty.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
