Thelma Rena Major, 89, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, Mo.
Born June 2, 1917, in Portageville, Mo., daughter of the late C.C. and Rena Cavender Muller, she attended Boykerton Schools and a former member of the Northaven Baptist Church. She was employed at Brown Shoe Company.
In 1938, in Wardell, Mo., she married E.L. "Shorty" Wilson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Carlotti Wilson; one son, James E. Wilson; two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha Nichols, of Kennett; five grandchildren, Holly Marbry, of Kennett and Jimmy, Jerry, John and Joe Wilson, all of Memphis, Tenn.; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the Portageville Cemetery with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
