Rosa Lee McAlpin, 69, of Hoxie, Ark., died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Lawrence County memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
Born July 12, 1937, in Bernie, Mo., daughter of the late Albert Lee and Rosa Alice Nichols McAlpin, she was a homemaker and of the Presbyterian faith.
In 1951, in Dunklin County, Mo., she married Albert Eugene McAlpin, who preceded her in death in June, 1967. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Wanda Lee Kirk Patrick; one son, Lester Eugene McAlpin and two sisters Shirley Johns and Nadine Davis.
Survivors include three sons, Alfred McAlpin, of Alicia, Ark., Daniel McAlpin, of Walnut Ridge, Ark., and John Chancellor, of Hoxie, Ark.; four daughters, Gwen McAlpin, of Russellville, Ark., Esther Kurtz and husband, Ronald, of Monticello, Ark., Martha Wilburn and husband, Jimmy, of Hoxie and Lena Norman and husband, Ricky, of Marshall, Texas; two brothers, Albert Junior Johns, of Doniphan, Mo., and Kenneth Johns, of Rollo, Ill.; two sisters, Tina Scaggs, of Hillsboro, Mo., and Thelma Stanford, of Southaven, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 26, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. Jeffrey E. Cook officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Campbell.
