Born Feb. 28, 1925, in Tennessee, daughter of the late James Thomas and Pinkie Ledford May, she was a homemaker.
On Nov. 1, 1941, in Blytheville, Ark., she married James Raymond Swift, who preceded her in death on July 5, 1975. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Carol, Lee and William May; three sisters, Annalou Pipkins, Margaret McCarthy and Minnie May and one grandson, Jeffery Scott.
Survivors include one son, Tom Swift and wife, Lena, of Caruthersville, Mo.; one daughter, Lawana Logan and husband, Danny, of Portageville; one sister, Ollie Whitaker, of Allenville, Mo.; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dry Bayou Cemetery at Hayti.
